For new adventure, new location, new challenging experience, more frequent flyer miles, increased visibility and potential in future advancement: Shanghai (that and the Bund is a very spectacular attraction)
For new challenges in a familiar location, shorter distance to home, potential of exploring new angles of adventure while keeping other elements unchanged: Singapore (that and the largest octopus in the world has visited the Underwater world in Sentosa)
If not, there's always Seremban (thanks Shades), Senawang, Sitiawan and Sibu...hee hee hee
I'm sure you'll come up with a good decision regarding this. Sometimes, even after putting down all the logical reasons and going through the pros and cons of both options, listening to our gut is still the deciding factor. I say this: do the research, analyse options and consequences. After that, listen to your instincts. :-)
i have lived in Singapore and it is a privileged American community surrounded by locals that you really have no contact with... singapore is great for traveling though because the airport is convenient and reliable and singapore is so close to a lot of great places... in shanghai there is less of a distinction between the american community and the local city, but there is still the american fixes there that you cant live wthout.
